The Need for Love<\/h5>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

I was stunned for a moment when a man asked me in a very distressed manner, \u201cdoes God love gay people?\u201d Due to the intense emotion in his eyes, let alone the question, I was a bit struck for what to say. Still, I said “yes”. He must have sensed my hesitation and asked, \u201care you sure?\u201d I thought about how Paul interpreted the cross as an act of God\u2019s love for all of us (Rom. 5:8). With even more confidence in God\u2019s love for LGBTQ+ people, I shared, \u201cyes, He does!” <\/p>\n

This story marks a foundational stance that we have at Thousand Rainbows Ministries. That is, God loves LGBTQ+ peoples AND love requires ACTION. Moreover, we don\u2019t think it is enough for the Church to say we love LGBTQ peoples. We are convinced our beliefs and our actions have to be aligned. Our conviction is that the LGBTQ community needs to see demonstrated acts of love from the Church. We believe the greatest act of love humanity will ever know was demonstrated for all people and for sexual minorities. Historically, the Church has had seasons of hate, indifference, or even unhealthy compromise toward LGBTQ+ peoples. Our acts of kindness are meant to express God’s selfless love, beautified in action. And, even if they don\u2019t want the great news Jesus came to bring, we still hope to represent Him, the One who loves them.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

So, How does TRM do This?<\/h5>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

We partner with the Church searching intently where God wants us to demonstrate Jesus’ love for LGBTQ+ peoples. We do this by helping the Church love LGBTQ+ family members, co-workers, neighbors, and others around them. We serve with local Orgs. to help those affected by HIV\/AIDS. We give to homeless youth populations. We hand out items at the SD PRIDE parade. And we are always looking for new ways to leave a legacy of love in the lives of LGBTQ+ peoples.<\/p>\n
